What happens when a person accustomed to getting their own way is forced to confront the limits of their power? In this darkly comic tale of ambition, family loyalties and questionable business dealings, a series of increasingly extraordinary situations raises some surprisingly serious philosophical questions. Are our choices determined by self-interest, duty or love? Can a lifetime of dubious decisions be redeemed by a change of heart? And when the things we value most come into conflict, how do we decide what really matters? Join us for a mystery film screening followed by a philosophical discussion about choice, responsibility and the possibility of becoming a different person. Can you guess the film? PFA Film Club hosts free screenings of thought-provoking films, followed by a discussion about the raised philosophical issues, for general public. In 2026 meetings are held every third WEDNESDAY of the month at the Cafe of St. Hilda's East Community Centre, 18 Club Row, London E2 7EY. The nearest station is Shoreditch High Street on the Overground. The screening starts at 6:30 pm (or at 6pm for longer films) and we need to vacate the building by 9:00pm.
