Production efficiency, runtime, quality, and defect metrics can tell us what happened, but investigating why it happened and what to do next still requires reasoning across evidence. In this session, we'll build an AI-powered Manufacturing Investigation Agent using Claude, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and trusted manufacturing data from Microsoft Fabric. Through an investigation, we'll see how an agent can gather production and quality evidence, identify anomalies, develop and challenge competing hypotheses, recognize when there isn't enough evidence to establish root cause, and recommend the next best action. We'll then move beyond answering questions and turn reasoning into action by creating a governed investigation record and escalating findings to the appropriate operations team while keeping humans in control.
