About this event

I am Master Peter Wu. I am a certified Tai Chi instructor and I’ve been practicing and teaching Tai Chi for 20 years. Let me talk about Taichi. Tai Chi, short for Tai Chi Quan(太極拳), is a martial art that originated in China. It is circular, slow, relaxed, and smooth-flowing movements . The Chinese word for Tai (太) means Supreme and the word for Chi/Ji(极) means Principle, so Tai Chi can be interpreted as Supreme Principle. It is represented by the Yin-Yang and its core lies in the concept of dualism, which describes opposite forces. Tai Chi in Taipei’s goal is to make accessible to the foreign community in Taipei and to the locals. We do this by teaching both the physical as well as the philosophical parts to small groups of people through our Tai Chi classes. Anyone who is interested in Tai Chi is welcome to join us.
