About this event

Alignment: Harmony Begins Within How can we create harmony with others if we are not aligned within ourselves? In Aikido, alignment is fundamental to effective movement. When our posture, balance and intention work together, we can achieve more with less unnecessary effort. But alignment goes far beyond physical movement. Our thoughts, feelings, physical impulses, intentions and actions are not always working together. Sometimes we experience internal conflicts that influence how we communicate, make decisions and relate to others. The purpose of internal alignment is not simply to become more effective individually, but to create a foundation for harmony with others. When we are aligned within ourselves, we become better able to tune in to another person's perspective, listen openly and respond without losing our own balance or direction. Harmony doesn't necessarily mean agreement. It means discovering how we can connect and work together while respecting our differences. What Will We Explore? Through simple embodied exercises, personal reflection and interactive dialogue, we will investigate: • How can we recognise alignment and misalignment within ourselves? • What physical impulses arise when we encounter disagreement or resistance? • How does our internal alignment influence our ability to listen and connect? • Can we harmonise with others without compromising our own intentions and values? Rather than simply discussing these ideas intellectually, we'll explore how they manifest in our bodies and everyday interactions. Who Is This Session For? This session is for anyone curious about developing greater self-awareness, improving relationships and discovering how to create harmony with others. It may be particularly interesting for: • Leaders, managers and facilitators seeking to inspire cooperation, navigate differences and lead without unnecessary conflict. • Coaches, educators and professionals interested in embodied awareness, communication and human connection. • Anyone navigating personal or professional relationships who wants to respond more consciously to tension, disagreement or resistance. • Aikido practitioners and enthusiasts interested in applying Aiki principles beyond the dojo. You don't need to be a leader, practise Aikido or have previous experience with embodied learning. All you need is curiosity, openness and a willingness to explore! About the Aiki Leadership Lab The Aiki Leadership Lab (A.L.L.) is a welcoming space for exploring awareness, personal development, human relationships and leadership through the embodied principles of Aikido. Our sessions combine experiential learning, practical exercises and open dialogue. Rather than prescribing answers, we encourage participants to make their own discoveries and explore how these insights can be applied in everyday life.
