About this event

PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST ALSO SIGN UP HERE ON LUMA IN ORDER TO GENERATE A QR CODE TICKET, SIGNUPS THAT DO NOT DO THIS WILL NOT HAVE A TICKET. https://luma.com/fkm536ya After the success of our 2025 event, we've grown almost 2000 members in 2026! So, we're doing the UnConf again. There's space for 300 of you. 20 different interactive tracks across all things Rust across an entire afternoon. A purely interactive mix of discussions, workshops, talks, demos, classes and more across all the things that you in our community have specifically requested. We'll be covering everything from embedded Rust, to async, distributed systems, AI, GPUs, databases, and so much more! We anticipate this will be the biggest free Rust event ever held in person, and have no intentions of slowing down. We've gone all out this year, and hired a dedicated space at the Jay Conference Center in Chelsea for an afternoon, with 20 of the best and brightest coming together from the Rust ecosystem to present a learning opportunity quite like no other, completely for free. If you need something to explain to your employer why this is worth your time without using PTO, we've prepped this template for you: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-UgmwFDrpk9EC2VKSVpZfannfSk_AaUHJBYpkuH_IL8/edit?usp=sharing Over the coming week, we'll be announcing the talk track titles, alongside further speakers. This event would not be possible without the community coming together to donate to the ever rising costs, and we wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of our sponsors for helping this come together: JetBrains have kindly funded the conference venue, and all of the other costs are being covered by Eden, Antithesis, Iroh, Empathic, Helius and Lawrence Harvey. With this being an afternoon event, a link to provide your employer outlining why this event is educational and worth you attending will be published here soon. We'll also have a fantastic happy hour afterwards! The track list is being released in blocks of 5 over the next couple of weeks, but the first 5 are here: Devon Tietjen - Founder and CEO of Eden & RustConf 2026 speaker: Realtime CVE Remediation: Cybersecurity vulnerabilities have always been risks faced by production software, but as we enter the age of the unabashed AI hacker, the scale of weaponization these tools pose is unprecedented. Agentic hackers can now exploit a vulnerability in hours, not days, and a single bad actor can attack systems at a scale only state sponsors could previously achieve. We must evolve the methodology and speed with which we protect, remediate, deploy, and observe our systems. At Eden we've been building solutions for this critical moment, and I will be discussing our approaches to solve issues for customers at every step of the software supply chain to overcome cyber threats. Alex Kesling - CTO & Co-Founder at Empathic Turtles All The Way Down Rust lets you do amazing things. In this talk you'll learn how Doom could run at 35fps on Hubris (the Oxide Computer Company microcontroller OS) on a simulated ARM chip on WebAssembly in a web browser. Why would someone do such a thing? How does Rust empower this? Come play Doom and find out! (And learn a little about WebAssembly, embedded software, and Hubris, of two kinds, all in one talk!) Nick Gerace - Member of Technical Staff at East River Source Control The Art of Duel Wielding Against Duel Writes A user gets a notification in their browser that it's time to take action. Messaging brokers, web socket events, browser stores, tokio tasks, channels... it all becomes too much! This talk will take on Nick's journey from contending with the "dual write problem: in his career to eventually solving it at East River Source Control (ERSC) via the Change Data Capture pattern. Your PostgreSQL WAL is already there! Duel wield it with a robust, custom Rust-powered messaging architecture to fend off your day two woes and foes. Greg Travis - Senior Software Engineer at Tempora
