Benfleet, Hadleigh Castle, Leigh & Southend

A truly wonderfully varied 9 to 10 mile Essex coastal walk ! Please arrive by 10.05am so as to buy group return train tickets or use your passes, for the 10.34am train that arrives in Benfleet at 11.16am. The walk will commence by 11.20am. Meetup fee £5 payable in cash or in advance by bank transfer. Train ticket : Return to Southend Central. Or you may decide to drive. Things to bring : packed lunch ( or have fabulous al fresco fish and chips in Peterboat pub ), water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes/ trainers plus sunhat, suncream and sunglasses. We shall first walk 4/5 miles in a country park along the Thames Estuary to Leigh visiting Hadleigh Castle along the way. Then we shall walk by the beaches to Southend after stopping off for an ice cream at Rossi in Westcliffe on Sea. At Southend there is a great option for £3 to walk there and back along the longest pleasure pier in the world which measures 1.25 miles in length or you walk one way and get the fun train back. You should be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour and have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity. Please only post photos of others with their consent. My no is 07714250849.
