About this event

What Is Love? We can't escape love. It is the line that runs through all human creation - music, visual arts, movies, and stories. But there is a countermovement that attempts to reduce love to something trivial - hormones, neural oscillations, or survival instinct. So what, really, is love? Does it govern our lives or ruin them? Is it something that our body simply does? Is love private or essentially communal? In this Philosophy Salon, we will look at why love matters so much, and how it can matter even more. Tickets First-time visitors are welcome to join us for free! Otherwise tickets are €15. We also have a 2-for-1 ticket option if you'd like to bring a friend. To book your spot, please register on Eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.nl/e/what-is-love-tickets-1996201578658?aff=oddtdtcreator) or message us for a Tikkie. \*Many our attendees sign up via Eventbrite, so the Meetup count is not representative. Meeting Information Doors open at 18:45 and close at 19:10. Please be on time! Philosophy Salons The Philosophy Salons are gatherings of curious people to explore big ideas with an open mind. The Philosophy Salons are organized by Anya, a philosopher based in Amsterdam. We dive deep into beliefs and ideas, dive out, and have fun along the way!
