About this event

We have a very special meetup for our November edition! We are thrilled to welcome Hemal Varambhia presenting: The Hottest New Programming Language is Ubiquitous (Within a Bounded Context Window) Speaker Biography: Hemal Varambhia is a senior technical coach at Simply Business, an insurtech based in London. Prior to his career in software development, he was an atomic and molecular physicist at UCL, in which he holds a doctorate. Outside of software development, Hemal enjoys reading and taking long walks and still maintains a strong interest in physics. Pronouns: He/Him/His Key Takeaways: • This talk is a continuation of Hemal’s session at the LSCC in September 2025 (https://www.meetup.com/london-software-craftsmanship/events/310516638/?eventOrigin=group_events_list). Later that year, he began to reap the benefits of DDD and Ports and Adapters: refining his programmer tests (no more Docker for unit tests!) and bringing the ubiquitous language to life, which made writing tests cheap and, more importantly, fun. Towards the end of 2025, Hemal gave in to FOMO and started exploring AI-assisted programming. He was particularly interested in whether it was now possible to prompt an LLM entirely in the ubiquitous language and produce well-structured code, and in what role refactoring plays when it does. Is the future of programming DDD’s ubiquitous language? Come along to find out, and see how refactoring can be unlocked as a superpower. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- Food and Drinks Pizza and drinks will be provided upon arrival sponsored by Codurance (https://www.codurance.com/), with vegetarian and vegan options available. We look forward to seeing you!
