Don't forget your ID! • 6:30 PM - Welcome (in-person and remote attendees) • 6:35 PM - First Talk: Server-Driven UI on Top of a Design System • 7:05 PM - Community Announcements • 7:15 PM - Second Talk: AI, Beyond the Prompt • 7:45 PM - Networking • 8:45 PM - Doors close. Regroup at a bar nearby First Talk Description: • Server-Driven UI on Top of a Design System by Jules Sampaio & Chris Feher Our iOS app builds many of its screens from protobuf messages sent by the server. The app doesn’t know a screen’s layout ahead of time. It only knows the components in our design system, and it arranges them the way the server tells it to. The talk has two halves. First, our designer explains how they built the design system: how they chose the components, how they set up colors, spacing and type, and how they design new screens from pieces that already exist instead of starting from a blank page. Then we will show the engineering side: what the server sends, how the app turns it into SwiftUI views, and what happens when the server asks for something the app doesn’t have yet. We’ll finish with what this setup made easier, what it made harder, and when we still build a screen by hand. Jules Sampaio is a Product Designer at Credit Genie and the design lead on Monyo. Originally from Brazil, they earned a BFA in Graphic Design with a minor in Interaction Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), graduating Summa Cum Laude, with study abroad in France and Hong Kong. Jules spent over five years at Attentive, growing from Visual Designer to Design Manager leading a team of six, then to Product Designer leading the company's Creative Builder, always pairing visual craft with a user-centered mindset. Their mobile app work has earned Gold at the Indigo Awards, Core77 Design Awards honors, and recognition from Fast Company's World Changing Ideas Awards. At Credit Genie, Jules built the design system from scratch and is now building Monyo's from zero, taking each from Figma tokens to components shipped in code. Curious about software engineering, Jules contributes to the iOS repo and loves exploring how designers and engineers can learn from each other. An aspiring design engineer, Jules sees themself as a shared component between design and engineering, built on honest conversation and good vibes. Chris Feher is Director of Mobile Engineering at Credit Genie, leading iOS and Android. Before that, Chris was an engineering manager at Shopify. At Block, Chris led several Cash App teams at once with a focus on lending, and took Cash App Borrow from pre-launch to a multi-billion-dollar business. Chris's technical background is iOS, including work on Gmail at Google and iOS apps at Shopify. Second Talk Description: • AI, Beyond the Prompt by Stéphane Copin What actually happens when you ask an LLM to write code? We’ll break down the basics, from tokens and attention to context and tools, then connect them to everyday mobile development. Using examples from iOS development, we’ll explore how to provide better context, make requirements explicit, and catch generated code that looks right but behaves wrong. Stéphane is a Staff Software Engineer at Compass and Technical Lead for the Mobile team. He oversees the architecture and development of the company's iOS and Android apps. Over the past 1.5 years, he has led the team's AI-enablement, helping engineers adopt AI tools in their everyday workfl
