Intro to Indian Classical Dance: Dances of India

Adults, All Ages. Throughout 2026, we have been exploring the many branches of Indian Classical Dance through a series of workshops presented in collaboration with the Indian Classical Music Society of Vancouver and Aṣṭa Alliance. Through workshops on Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kathak, Manipuri, and Odissi, all presented by expert practitioners, we've learned together about the incredible history and artistry of this movement practice. Now we're bringing these presenters together for a performance at the Central Library. Join us for a unique dance recital of solo performances representing each of the five traditions we explored alongside an ensemble performance which will bring these traditions into dialogue with one another. As always, no experience with Indian Classical Dance is required, just curiosity!
