About this event

New Adults (Ages 19 to 23), Teens (Ages 12 to 18), Tweens (Ages 9 to 11). What does a narrative designer actually do, anyway? Let’s spend some time talking, creating, revising, and exploring how narrative designers approach design problems. Come practice creating stories players play, experience, and treasure. No registration required. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Snacks and refreshments available while supplies last. Sponsored by the Friends of the Sammamish Library. About the Presenter: Jeremy has used games to tell stories for other people his whole life. He has made projects of all sizes, from roleplaying games played on the school bus to collectable card games played across the globe. Works include board games (The Duke, Toboggans of Doom), card games (Timestreams, Phase), collectable cards games (Anachronism), and digital conversions of board games (Dogfight, Roman Taxi). He has also created tools to help others make games. This includes The White Box game design toolkit as well as the design textbook “What is Game Design”. Jeremy works as a professor of game design at DigiPen Institute of Technology, where he has guided a generation of new designers. His personal quest is to play every game at least once.
