Production Basics (https://learn.soundcollective.com/courses/production-basics-free-workshop) is a free, hands-on 2-hour workshop that gives you a real introduction to making music from scratch. Hosted in our NYC studios, the session focuses on one core skill: building your first groove and loop. A professional producer walks you through how a beat actually comes together, from picking sounds to laying down patterns to shaping an idea into something that sounds like a track. ​This is built to give you an honest read on whether music production is a craft you want to pursue further. Small-group format with guided instruction and open practice time. No DAW experience or prerequisites required. However, RSVP is required. If all workstations are taken by the time you arrive, you’re still more than welcome to join the session, observe, and jump on the gear during open practice time!
