About this event

Adults, Seniors, Teens. Did you know that only seventeen composers are responsible for over 50% of the playtime during the 25/26 season of orchestras around the world? Come discover the 99% that did not make it into the mainstream, but were on the ground shaping music history. They wrote some of the most beautiful and profound pieces of music, but were unfortunately forgotten. Come meet Alkan, Catoire, Raff, Godowsky, Stojowski, and many more. This event is presented in partnership with Sakka Music. Sakka Music is dedicated to discovering, celebrating, and showcasing the works of lesser-known and forgotten composers. At the heart of their artistic vision is the belief that classical music is not a closed canon, but a living, evolving repertoire shaped by history, access, and visibility. By inviting audiences to discover music that has been overlooked rather than lacking in quality, they create concerts that feel both enriching and approachable, even for listeners unfamiliar with classical music.
