While we had a slight improvement overall with attendance, we still have several no shows that made for a chaotic start to Saturday's game. Reminder that multiple, repeated no shows or late cancels will result in your removal from the group. Warm-ups @ 3:40 PM when possible, Game starts @ 4:00 PM. On time arrival allows us to get maximum game time in. \*\*\ \*Where: Central Park Great Lawn, Field 7\*. Northern end of the Great Lawn, on the other side of the oval path that circles the main part of the Great Lawn. Enter at 86th Street. \*\*\ \*Post-Game drinks (most weeks):\*\ \*Craft and Carry (2nd Ave between 84th/85th) \*\*\* Weather: \*\*Check the hotline (212-628-1036 x111). I will do my best to keep everyone updated via email if weather looks iffy. I will cancel the event if the game is cancelled. \*\*\ \*Games will be cancelled \*\*if is (or “feels like”) 90°F+ or there are fewer than 18 RSVPs. Fees & RSVPs \*\*\* Cost: \*\*10/week (\*\*120 season cap or $110 if you pay prior to the first game). \*\*\ \*Payment: electronic app of choice: Venmo, Paypal, Zelle, CashApp or cash at the game. You must pay before you can play. \*\*\* Cancellations: RSVP limit is 24. Please cancel by 4 PM Friday \*\*if you are no longer able to attend. Regular late cancels or no-shows may result in removal from the league. If someone late cancels and you are moved off the wait list but can’t attend, it won’t be held against you. Equipment & Gameplay \*\*\*Gear: \*\*Wear sneakers/cleats. Bring a glove if you have one (limited extras available). Balls and bats provided, but feel free to bring your own bat if you prefer. \*\*\* Batting: \*\*batters start with a 0-0 count and we work with a 3 swing rule. If your third swing is a foul, you will be out even if it is not caught. If we happen to have an umpire, we will call standard balls and strikes \*\*\*Baserunning: \*\*No leads or stealing. Slide at your own risk (field conditions are not great for sliding). \*\*\* Field Rules: \*\*A ball will be considered DEAD if it is hits a tree, over a fence, behind the backstop, or long there is overthrow at 1B. Runners advance one base. A ball is LIVE if it hits the fence along 3B or if it is hit deep into the trees. \*\*\ \*Positions: \*\*Pitcher and Catcher will rotate unless someone wants to play that position the whole game
