About this event

Quantum 101: What Quantum Computing Is, and Why It Matters Now A free online webinar with Sooraj Bopanna 📅 Saturday, November 7, 2026 🕙 2:00 PM PST 💻 Online via Zoom: [Zoom link / registration link] About the session Quantum computing is moving from research labs toward real-world systems, yet for most people it still feels like science fiction. This beginner-friendly session cuts through the hype and explains the fundamentals in plain language, with no physics or math background needed. What you’ll learn • What a qubit is and how it differs from a classical bit • The core ideas of superposition, entanglement, and interference, explained simply • Why quantum computers are so hard to build, and what “fault-tolerant” quantum computing (FTQC) means • Where quantum computing could make a real impact, including chemistry, materials, optimization, and AI • How quantum computing and AI/ML may shape each other • What’s realistic today versus what’s still years away About the speaker Sooraj Bopanna is a Senior Director / VP of Program Leadership working in Quantum Computing and AI/ML. He founded the Software PMO at PsiQuantum, where he helped deliver what the company describes as an industry-first fault-tolerant quantum computing (FTQC) platform. Before PsiQuantum, he worked on Amazon Alexa. His career has focused on taking frontier research into production at scale. He studied at MIT and Stanford. Who should attend Students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and anyone curious about the next big shift in computing. Bring your questions; there will be a live Q&A. 🔗 Register / Join: https://us05web.zoom.us/j/5346528489?pwd=OaHtPIa2BuSO0UDYfHkEXlXZl8b1uz.1 Hosted by: Zen4Quantum ***
