A Special Day of Traditional Culture and Hands-On Activities. \*\*\* We’re hosting a cultural festival where you can experience Japanese traditional culture and food in a fun and relaxed atmosphere! Why not explore Japan’s rich traditions through Japanese calligraphy and tea ceremony? Discover the art of writing with a brush and experience the spirit of Japanese hospitality through tea. Beginners are more than welcome, so come and discover the beauty of Japanese culture! 🍵🖌️ You can also join our onigiri-making experience! Make and enjoy onigiri (Japanese rice balls), a staple of Japanese home cooking, with your own hands. Discover Japanese food culture while enjoying the fun of making your own rice balls and tasting them fresh! 🍙😋 There’s more to enjoy, including Shogi (Japanese chess), Go, origami, and kendama! Feel free to try these traditional Japanese games and activities at your own pace. No prior experience is necessary, so give them a try! On the day of the event, you will first join either the simultaneous English-Only Meetup or the meetup where both Japanese and English are spoken. When each of the activity booths listed above is ready to begin, we will announce it. However, each booth has limited capacity, so please move to the booth only when your name or group is called in the announcement. Travelers, international students, and anyone interested in Japanese culture are all welcome! Discover Japanese traditions, make new friends, and create wonderful memories with us! ✨ \*\*\* 🗾 Japanese Cultural Experiences 👉 The start time may vary slightly from the scheduled time. 👉 Updates will be announced throughout the event. 🖌️ Japanese Calligraphy (7:00 PM) Experience the traditional Japanese art of calligraphy! Use a brush and ink to write kanji characters or your favorite words while enjoying Japan’s beautiful writing culture. You can take your artwork home. 🖌️ 🍵 Japanese Tea Ceremony (8:00 PM) Experience the traditional Japanese tea ceremony! Learn how to prepare matcha and practice basic tea ceremony etiquette while enjoying the spirit of Japanese hospitality and a peaceful moment. 🍵🌿 Of course, you can enjoy drinking the matcha on the spot. 🍙 Onigiri Making (7:00 PM) Let’s make and enjoy onigiri, a staple of Japanese home cooking, together! Discover Japanese food culture and enjoy international exchange through this fun hands-on activity. You can eat the onigiri you make on the spot. 📄 Origami (8:00 PM) Experience origami, the traditional Japanese art of paper folding, and create animals, flowers, and many other shapes. One of its unique features is that beautiful creations can be made from a single sheet of paper without scissors or glue. It is a popular Japanese cultural activity that people of all ages can enjoy. You can take your creations home. 📄 🎲 Shogi & Go (7:00 PM) Try shogi (Japanese chess) and go, two traditional Japanese board games!
