Purple Rain

Nothing says spring quite like a tree-lined street that rains purple flowers. Meet at the small park on the primary school side of Bridge Street (cnr Swanson Street), outside Erskineville Station. see PHOTO below for meeting point. We will enjoy the nearby jacarandas before following the Bourke Street cycleway into the city, via The Domain for more purple displays. Then it’s over the Bridge to Kirribilli to check out the colourful display there – another popular place for that perfect jacaranda photo. And a coffee… Return to Erskineville via Darling Harbour, Glebe and Sydney Uni where we will mourn the once ancient jacaranda on the Quad. The ride is a leisurely pace on-road (mostly back streets) or cycle paths. Riders MUST be confident riding in traffic. DISTANCE: Approx. 25km, mostly flat, with plenty of photo opportunities. Ride will be cancelled if weather impacted. Monitor MeetUp for wet weather cancellation. Bring bike in good working condition, drink bottle, helmet, pump, spare tubes, tyre levers. Riders must be a current financial member ($10 cash on day accepted).
