Understanding Isn’t Enough: Learn to Respond Differently to Familiar Patterns
About this event
Have you ever thought, “I know why I do this, so why does it still happen?” Perhaps you recognise one of these situations: • You have something to contribute in a meeting, but your chest tightens and you stay quiet. • You want to say no, but guilt takes over and you agree to something you don’t have time for. • You receive a small piece of criticism and spend the evening replaying it, even though you know it doesn’t define you. • You want to make a decision, but keep searching for reassurance because neither option feels certain enough. What might help you speak while feeling nervous, set a boundary while tolerating some guilt, or make a choice without needing complete certainty? Join me for an interactive introduction to working with emotional patterns through imagery, imagination and body awareness. We’ll explore what it can mean to experience a situation differently, and how that experience might open up new choices in everyday life. During our 60 minutes together, we’ll: • Explore why recognising a pattern doesn’t always change how it feels. • Look at examples of experiential work. • Try a gentle, optional guided exercise. • Make time for questions and reflection. No previous experience is needed. You’re welcome to simply listen, and you won’t be asked to share anything personal. Hosted by Dr. Beatriz Melim, psychologist and researcher based in Munich. Free · Online · 60 minutes This event is for education and self-exploration and is not a substitute for medical or psychotherapeutic treatment.
